Not being able to keep up with his 3 year old daughter was the last straw for Kyle. He buckled down, set some goals and dropped over 100 pounds - See how he did it!

Tell us about yourself

I grew up in the small town of Midland and I was always active. Even when I was bigger I was still playing baseball, lacrosse, or ball hockey for most of my life. I may have been big but it didn’t stop me. I’ve always been a bigger person growing up and I had grown to just accept it.

What made you decide to start your transformation?

My biggest inspiration to make changes to my life was my daughter, she was only 3 and wanted to always play and I couldn’t keep up. I was always tired, out of breath or just plain lazy. I knew I had to make some serious changes for her and for myself.

How did you get started?

When I decided to make the change I signed up to my local World Gym and knew once I signed up and I was paying for it would hold me accountable. When I signed up I got a free fitness assessment and 3 free training sessions so I used those to get as much information as I could on how to help me lose fat.

What supplements do you currently take?

I take a half of a scoop of Mr. Hyde as a pre workout and BCAA’s during my workout. Additionally, I take protein afterwards. Before bed I always mix a bit of protein into non-fat plain Greek yogurt.

Hows your diet?

I try and keep my diet pretty strict lately because starting in September I will be prepping to do an IDFA Transformation Competition. So every morning I start my day with protein bread toasted with natural peanut butter and sugar free jam. My first break at work I usually eat steel cut oats with cinnamon. Then, for lunch I usually have a protein mixed veggies and quinoa. For dinner It always changes but its usually chicken or steak with veggies and a sweet potato.

    What about your training?

I like to change up my training consistently. I usually only work one muscle group per day and some days I go heavier weights with lower reps and then other days I like to drop the weight and amp up my reps. I recently watched Fittest On Earth on Netflix about the whole cross fit games just blew my mind, so I’ve started to change some of my workouts after being inspired by the games.

    How did you find

I found out about JackedScholar on Instagram - I turn to social media for most of my inspiration, motivation and information for me and my fitness journey.

What are some of your favourite gym tracks?

How has being fit changed your life?

I absolutely love being fit! I can play and run with my daughter and actually get her tired before me. I still play baseball and ball hockey and for both sports I have had the best seasons I’ve ever had. I love being active - I’m happier fitter and in the best shape I’ve ever been. Fitness has really opened a lot of doors for me and I’m working on becoming a personal trainer so I can help others with their fitness journey.

What advice would you give to others who are looking to make a change?

My biggest tip I tell anyone that asks me for advice is to have patience with yourself and take your time. Everyone knows the saying "Rome wasn’t built in a day". I try and tell people that they should always enjoy the journey, and if you’re going to stick with it long enough you’re going to have to enjoy every step of it; the good, the bad, and the frustration. Keep it up!
